Miley Cyrus, New Spokesperson for Body by Milk Campaign
The latest celeb to be sporting a milk mustache is none other than the Disney phenomenom, Miley Cyrus. The latest campaign, titled "Girl Power," reads "Actress by day. Rocker by night. I've got to keep fit to keep up. So I drink milk. Some studies suggest that teens who choose milk over sugary drinks tend to be leaner and the protein helps build muscle. It's the best of both worlds."
Miley finished "The Best of Both Worlds Tour" in January of 2008 following widespread controversy over the scalping of tickets to the shows. Tickets were being sold for over 10 times face value. In response, the concert tour was filmed and released as a 3D movie, showing in theatres beginning last February.
Miley raised controversy again by appearing in a Vanity Fair Magazine feature article. The controversy is related to a photo taken by famous photographer Annie Liebovitz where Miley appears disheveled and covered only by a satin sheet. Quickly reacting to the critics, Miley released the following statement, "My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."
Controversy aside, Miley just released her new single called "7 Things" which describes the pain of a recent breakup. The song, a mix of teen angst and country twang, is the first released off her upcoming album due July 22. |
